Food Security

Providing consistent access to nutritious meals is at the heart of our programs. By meeting youth’s basic needs, we help create a stable foundation that allows them to focus on personal growth, education, and building a brighter future.

Holistic Youth Support

mental health & substance use

We prioritize mental health and substance use support by offering both formal and informal guidance, including access to an in-house counselor. Our programs are designed to create a safe and non-judgmental environment where youth can grow, build resilience, and develop the tools needed to overcome challenges.

cultural support

Recognizing the importance of identity and belonging, we integrate cultural programming into all of our services. Many of the youth we serve are Indigenous, and we honour their heritage by creating spaces for connection, cultural learning, and the celebration of traditions that strengthen their sense of self and community.

safe homes, brighter future

Housing & Shelter

A safe place to call home is vital for every young person. At Street Culture Project, we provide shelter and housing solutions that keep youth off the streets, and offer them stability, security, and a supportive environment where they can connect with peers and mentors. In addition to safe housing, we prioritize food security, ensuring that every young person has access to nutritious meals.

We also offer informal mental health and substance use support, with an in-house counselor available to help youth navigate these challenges. Our homes are more than just a roof overhead—they are safe spaces where youth can build relationships, gain life skills, and receive the support they need to grow, thrive, and reach their full potential.

Mentorship

We believe every young person has the potential to succeed with the right support. Our mentorship programs provide youth with guidance in navigating resources, gaining life skills, and building meaningful connections. Through one-on-one and group mentorship, we foster trust and empowerment, helping youth develop the skills they need to thrive and make informed decisions about their future.

Our programs create a supportive environment where youth can grow, build confidence, and become leaders in their communities, working toward their full potential.

Empowering Youth Through Work & Life Skills

Employment

At Street Culture Project, we believe in empowering youth through meaningful employment opportunities. Our social enterprises—SCP Construction and Birdies Cafe & Catering—provide hands-on work experience while teaching essential life skills. These enterprises offer youth the chance to gain valuable job skills in a supportive environment, preparing them for future success.

All proceeds from these initiatives are donated back to SCP, further supporting our mission to help youth build a brighter future. Through work, mentorship, and community, we equip youth with the tools they need to thrive.

Celebrating Identity Through Cultural Programming

Cultural Programming

Cultural identity is essential in building confidence and a sense of belonging, especially for many Indigenous youth. Our cultural programming supports the unique heritage of these youth by providing opportunities to explore, celebrate, and connect with their cultural roots. Through arts, traditions, and cultural activities, we empower youth to embrace their identity, fostering pride, resilience, and a strong foundation as they grow and navigate their future.

For cultural-related questions or inquiries, email culture@scproject.ca.

Outreach program

Supporting Youth Beyond the Program

Our Outreach Program ensures that no youth is left behind, offering vital support to those not currently enrolled in our programs. From bagged lunches prepared at our shelter to food hampers distributed from our pantry, we meet basic needs while fostering connection and trust. Our housing and mentorship staff go the extra mile, providing ongoing support to youth who have aged out of our programs but still need guidance. By addressing immediate needs and offering a helping hand, our outreach efforts embody our commitment to uplifting at-risk youth and fostering hope for their futures.

For outreach-related questions or inquiries, email outreach@scproject.ca.
