Youth Support Worker

As an SCP’s Youth Support Worker, your primary role is to provide trauma informed, strength based, relationship focused, and youth centered support to the residents of SCP’s shelter and/or peer homes. You will supervise, engage with, and make sure all needs of the youth are met. Reporting on youth progress and administration is required. In the Youth Support Worker role you will be responsible for supporting and implementing case management plans, assisting with programming development and delivery, supporting/assisting youth with activities of daily living and life skill development, and modeling/championing positive relationships and healthy choices. Before the end of your shift you are responsible for documenting all pertinent information and communicating pressing concerns to the case management team.

Overnight Team Support

As a member of SCP’s Youth Services Department overnight team, your primary role is to ensure youth safety. You will supervise, engage with, and make sure all needs of the youth are met. Reporting on youth progress and administration is required. SCP’s overnight team is responsible for maintaining safety standards and monitoring youth during quiet hours. During sleeping hours, you will be responsible for updating case management documents, cleaning and maintenance duties throughout the night, and prep for the next day. Before the end of shift, you are responsible for ensuring youth are out of bed and getting ready for school/day programs.

Youth Mentor

As a member of one of SCP’s mentorship based programs, you will be mentoring and supporting youth involved with SCP at different levels. Your shifts will include planning and implementing 1:1 activities and programming from 4 main categories: (a) building healthy relationships, (b) education, (c) recreation, and (d) life skills. Needs will vary between youth. A strong case management focus is required to meet the deliverables of outcome-based contracts that work towards building independence and positive support systems.
