Inspired by a true story with a youth, the Blue Duck™ carries a simple message: knowing someone cares can make all the difference.

The Blue Duck Movement is a community movement dedicated to creating more moments of hope, connection and aliveness.

We believe that when people feel seen, valued, supported, and connected, lives change. Communities become stronger. Hope grows. People find the courage to keep moving forward.

Yet today, many people are struggling in silence.

Every day, young people in our community are asking themselves a devastating question:
Is life worth living?

For some, the answer is becoming no. Young people are dying by suicide. Others are surviving but feel disconnected, invisible, numb, hopeless, or alone.

Many have never experienced what it feels like to truly belong. To know that someone would notice if they disappeared. To feel deeply connected to themselves, to others, or to the world around them.

And it is not only young people. Across our communities, countless adults are carrying the same loneliness, exhaustion, disconnection, and longing for something more.

People do not choose life simply because someone tells them their life matters. People choose life when they feel safe and when they have opportunities to play, create, explore, learn, grow, and contribute. The Blue Duck™ Movement exists to help create these conditions throughout our community.

Through simple acts of kindness, meaningful experiences, shared stories, and opportunities for connection, we are building a culture where people feel they matter, where connections matter, and where no one has to struggle alone.

Inspired by Street Culture Project’s vision of creating a world where youth feel and believe their life is worth living, the Blue Duck™ Movement expands that vision into the broader community because belonging is not just a youth issue. It is a human need.

Create your own Blue Duck™ and share with others – a symbol letting others know that someone cares, you are not alone.

Create a Blue Duck™ from clay, knitting, painting, paper mâché, wood, fabric, or any medium that inspires you. Let your creativity lead the way.

As you create, share in the experience together and open the door to meaningful conversations about connection, belonging, and loneliness. Check in with one another. We all need reminders that we are not alone. And we never know when someone may need a little extra hope, encouragement, or connection to help them keep going.

Get Involved

The Blue Duck™ Movement is built on a simple belief: creating a more connected and caring community is something we do together.

Whether you’re an individual, business, organization, community group, or someone who simply believes in the power of human connection, we’d love to connect with you.

We welcome conversations, partnerships, ideas, volunteers, sponsors, and community champions who want to help create a culture where people feel seen, valued, heard, supported, and connected.

Meaningful change happens when communities come together. It will take all of us working together to create the kind of impact we want to see.
