When a youth is in crisis, it's hard for them to know who to turn to. And when the people they should be able to count on are the ones putting them at risk, it's even harder. Through our Youth Shelter program, we provide a safe space for young people who have nowhere else to go and provide them with the resources they need to find their way through tough times.

Street Culture Project's 15-bed Emergency Youth Shelter, Tuhk Sih Nowin, provides short-term accommodation and support for 16 to 18-year-olds in emergency-crisis situations. The Tuhk Sih Nowin Shelter ensures that all basic physical AND social needs are met so that at-risk youth can get out of crisis mode and begin rebuilding their lives with the support they need. Our youth shelter provides a safe and secure environment for youth when they need it most.

When you donate to the Tuhk Sih Nowin Youth Shelter, you're helping young people at risk get the resources they need to succeed in life.

Your donations provide foodshelterclothingconnectionsopportunities and dignity—all the things that make a difference in the lives of young people who are facing tremendous challenges. Without the help of our community, these young people are at significant risk of becoming another statistic. With your support, we can make sure that doesn't happen. When you contribute to our Youth Shelter, you empower kids to feel safe, make healthy choices, and, most importantly, feel hopeful about creating a brighter future. Together, we can make a huge difference in the lives of these young people.

YOUR IMPACT

Youth Shelter

I would never have made it this far without you.

Our 15-bed gender-inclusive emergency shelter, funded through the Ministry of Social Services (MSS), serves youth between the ages of 16-18. SCP’s Youth Emergency Shelter is a voluntary, youth-centred service that provides short-term, supportive accommodation on an emergency-crisis intervention basis to at-risk youth.

SCP’s Emergency Youth Shelter fosters a safe and supportive environment where youth can not only meet their basic physical needs (e.g. food, warmth, clothing, shelter, hygiene) but also address their social needs to effectively make positive changes in their lives.

Who is It For? Any youth (16-18) is welcome!
